Pakistan’s newly elected President Asif Ali Zardari will not take any salary during his tenure.

Considering the economic condition of the country, he announced this on Tuesday. PPP, the party of 68-year-old Zardari, who was sworn in as the 14th President of Pakistan on Sunday, gave this information on ‘X’.

On behalf of the party, it has been written that the President has decided to encourage prudent financial management and not burden the national revenue.

This much was the salary of the former President
The President’s Secretariat Press Wing on Tuesday said the President has decided not to take salary considering the need not to burden the national revenue.

Former President Arif Alvi received a salary of Rs 8,46,550 per month, which was decided by the Parliament in 2018. Zardari is one of the richest leaders of Pakistan.

Zardari, co-chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), was sworn in as the country’s president for the second time on Sunday in a ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad.

Home Minister also took the decision
Apart from this, following in the footsteps of Zardari, Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi has also decided not to take salary citing economic challenges facing the country.

Naqvi wrote on ‘X’ that he is committed to serving the country in every possible way in these challenging times. It is noteworthy that the economic condition of Pakistan is not good for the last few days.
